Alcohol plays a part in many people’s lives and, in the main, is drunk at sensible levels.
However, research shows that around a quarter of adults drink above recommended levels – which can lead to serious long term health problems as well as effecting weight, mental health and relationships.
The ‘Alcohol and its effects’ website is designed to help people keep their drinking within recommended levels. It shows how many units and calories are in popular drinks and contains a questionnaire which will show whether their drinking is putting people’s health at risk.
The drinks diary will helps people keep a record of their alcohol consumption.
There’s no guaranteed safe level of drinking, but if you drink less than the recommended daily limits, the risks of harming your health are low.
Why not give it a go in Alcohol Awareness Week?
