The very best young musicians in Warwickshire presented a festive feast of music making last week, as part of an annual Christmas Concert organised by Warwickshire County Council’s County Music Service.
Two concerts to packed audiences at All Saints’ Parish Church in Leamington demonstrated the remarkable range of talent. Performances from groups including the Jazz Orchestra shared the stage with the Steel Pan Orchestra; Early Music groups and the Percussion Group; the Male Voice Choir and the County Wind Band.
Councillor Colin Hayfield, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Education & Learning, said: “We are very proud of County Music Service’s County Groups. The standard that the young musicians achieve is a real tribute to their hard work, the excellence of the County Group Directors and the invaluable parental support that makes everything happen.”
Councillor Bob Hicks, Chair of Warwickshire County Council’s Children & Young People Overview & Scrutiny Committee, said: “County Music Service offers a range of opportunities to young people to participate in positive activities, whatever their experience or skill level.”
