One step closer to National Rock and Pop success

Crail_The Empire smallCongratulations go to two Warwickshire rock bands who will represent the county at the Rock & Pop National Festival at the O2 Academy in Birmingham next month.

Such is the quality of rock bands in the county that despite Warwickshire Live Band winners ‘Offshore’ not being able to attend, Warwickshire will still be represented by two bands – ‘Crail’ and ‘The Empire – in the event in the main room at the Academy on 20th June, starting at 7pm.

The organisers of the Warwickshire Live Band Final think it is great news that ‘Crail’ and ‘The Empire’ are through. Although disappointing that ‘Offshore’ cannot make the festival, the organisers have already confirmed a spot for them in the 2016 Rock & Pop National Festival.

The County Music Service organised a Live Band final for bands all over Warwickshire at the Zephyr Lounge, Leamington Spa. Eleven bands took part, judged by County Music Service teachers with Rock & Pop experience, and the quality of performance was outstanding with a huge amount of energy created in each live performance.

Warwickshire County Council’s County Music Service interim director, Jeremy Dibb, said: “Warwickshire has a long and proud history of high achievement in the arts and it is wonderful to see these two bands continuing that history. I congratulate ‘Crail’ and ‘The Empire’ and wish them every success at the festival and in the future.

“For these two bands to be representing Warwickshire at the festival is a great achievement and a tribute both to their talent and to the commitment and expertise of the County Music Service.”

The concert has now gone live on the 02 Website and tickets are available here:
