Rugby students get set to shine

MusicTheatre Sept15 smBack to school means back to music making for hundreds of young people in Rugby as the Warwickshire County Music Service (CMS) start up their Music Centre activities.

CMS runs after school and weekend activities for everything from recorders to rock groups and students from across Rugby take full advantage of the opportunity for high quality music making.

The Music Theatre group continues to be an outstanding success on a Saturday morning at the Avon Valley School and Performing Arts College. Michael, 13, who is a student at Ashlawn School Academy and member of the Music Theatre, says “I really look forward to going back every year, it is great fun and I always feel I am developing my performance skills and increasing my confidence”.

The group encourages children to be part of an exciting team working together and increasing their confidence. Carole Iremonger, the chair of the parent Friends for the Music Centre Group agrees – “It is such a lovely group to be involved with. The performance in the County Music Christmas Concert on 3rd December 2015 and the two shows in 2016 means there will be lots of opportunities for all the young people to showcase their talents”.
