Winter tree planting in Country Parks

shutterstock_81582967It’s the right time of year now for tree planting, so if you are considering a commemorative tree for a loved one, then now is the time to order that special tree.

Warwickshire County Council has dedicated areas for commemorative woodlands at Kingsbury Water Park, Ryton Pools Country Park, Hartshill Hayes Country Park and Pooley Country Park. Any planting is in keeping with management plans for the sites both now and in the future, and in accordance with their list of species.

A pack of information has been produced which can be downloaded from our homepage at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/parks or you can order a hard copy from 01827 872660. This guidance provides all the information you need on the planting of commemorative trees, the installation of benches as memorials, and celebrations in and around the various Country Parks managed by Warwickshire County Council.

In addition to being commemorative, the trees will obviously provide new habitat for wildlife and help to enhance the natural environment of the Country Parks they are planted in.
