Quit4good on National No Smoking Day – Wednesday 8th March 2017

Warwickshire smokers urged to quit4good at quit4good.co.uk on No Smoking Day on Wednesday 8th March 2017 and save themselves on average £3,000 a year.

British Heart Foundation’s National No Smoking Day aims to inspire smokers to quit, with the theme for 2017, “Ditch or Switch – Give Yourself a Pay Rise!”. Thousands of smokers choose this day as the day they start to stop smoking. Making the decision to become smoke free is now simpler than ever for Warwickshire residents, with access to the county’s online stop smoking support service quit4good.co.uk

Quit4good is a free 12 week programme providing regular support from expert Stop Smoking Advisors, access to a forum of fellow quitters, regular support emails and stop smoking medication (prescription payable). Smokers can choose to quit online or with the support of a Stop Smoking Advisor available at a number of Pharmacies and GP’s across the county.

Pregnant smokers who want to “Quit4Baby” can also access the online service. Alternatively they can see a Stop Smoking in Pregnancy Advisor who can visit them at home, or visit a pharmacy who provides a Stop Smoking in Pregnancy Service. More information is available on the quit4good.co.uk website.

Cllr Les Caborn, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Health, said: “The quit4good service has helped thousands of smokers in Warwickshire to become smoke free. Research has shown that you are 4 times more likely to stop smoking for good if you sign up to the quit4good 12 week programme. The online service aims to widen access and encourage more people than ever in Warwickshire to sign up and quit smoking for good.”

Cllr Alan Webb, Warwickshire County Council’s Chair of the Adults, Social Care and Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee added: “Stopping smoking is the best thing you can do to improve your health. Not only is the service now easier than ever to access, it also provides a community of quitters in Warwickshire, who can support and encourage each other along the quitting journey.”
