Around 20 bikers attended Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Services – Biker Down course yesterday at Henley Fire Station. The main aim of the event was to help keep bikers safe on the roads by improving their knowledge on enforcement and education.
Biker Down is a free 3-hour course which offers Bikers the chance to learn practical skills to help them avoid being involved in a collision, as well as essential first-aid training and advice on what to do should they find themselves first on the scene at a collision, where a motorcyclist is injured. The course covers three essential areas:
- Collision Scene management
- Basic first aid and casualty care
- The science of being seen.
Some of the groups who attended were Shakespeare Bikers, Cov RAGBuds with BikesRoyal British Legion Riders.
A huge note of thanks goes to Dave Shenton of IAM Road Smart and Paul Rowlands of West Midlands Ambulance who provided their help, support and expertise to ensure the course was a real success!
