Kingsbury Water Park is venturing into cinema for the first time this year. If outdoor cinema is your thing, or if you fancy enjoying the big outdoor experience during a (hopefully) warm summer evening, then now is the time to get your tickets.
The film that will be shown seems quite fitting for an outdoor environment – so bring your little monkeys along!
The Jungle Book
PG 2016, Fantasy/Drama film, 1h 51m
Raised by a family of wolves since birth, Mowgli (Neel Sethi) must leave the only home he’s ever known when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba) unleashes his mighty roar.
Guided by a no-nonsense panther (Ben Kingsley) and a free-spirited bear (Bill Murray), the young boy meets an array of jungle animals, including a slithery python and a smooth-talking ape.
Along the way, Mowgli learns valuable life lessons as his epic journey of self-discovery leads to fun and adventure.
Critic reviews say the film is visually stunning and expertly acted. This retelling of a classic pays tribute to the original adventure while erasing the insensitivity of parts of Disney’s ’60s version.
Cllr Councillor Jeff Clarke, Portfolio Holder for Environment said:
“I think this year’s choice will be a big family favourite so I’d urge anyone who would like to attend to book their tickets straight away to avoid disappointment.”
Cinema goers are invited to take warm blankets, fold up chairs and a picnic, although food and drink will be on sale during the event.
No glass, gazebos or alcohol are to be taken on site.
Tickets for this year’s Outdoor Cinema on Saturday, 19 August, are on sale now from northsouthevents.co.uk.
The film will start at approximately 9pm (subject to suitable reduced light) but people are encouraged to arrive after 6.30pm onwards to get themselves settled and enjoy a picnic beforehand.
