Educaterers, who have taken over delivery of school meals from Warwickshire County Council, have launched a brand new website – www.educaterers.co.uk – showcasing the services offered by the specialist contract caterer with over 60 years’ experience in the education sector.
Educaterers launched as a Local Authority Traded Company – the first for Warwickshire County Council – in September 2017.
The new website tells the Educaterers ‘Food Story’, starting with how the ingredients for the 125,000 meals they serve weekly to school children across Warwickshire are sourced, with an emphasis on sustainability, animal welfare and ethical trading.
‘Star suppliers’ included in the website’s food story include UK Food Hall, Total Produce, Yeo Valley, Blakemore Food Service, Lower Hurst Farm and Hopwells Ltd.
The website highlights reassuring facts about the food on Educaterers’ school menus, such as:
– All pork on the menu is Farm Assured and RSPCA Freedom Foods accredited
– All chicken is British Red Tractor Farm Assured
– Their menus are free from endangered fish
– Every egg used is free range and comes from a local farm
There is a section dedicated to Educaterers staff and the ongoing development of skills for kitchen-based colleagues, business support and management teams, with a focus on food innovation and customer service. The website encourages people to view current vacancies online and read the stories of Educaterers’ management team and their journey in the catering sector.
Educaterers provide catering for nursery schools, primary schools, secondary schools and colleges and Special Educational Needs schools, and you can click to view sample menus and information on how individual needs are catered for in different education settings.
Educaterers is wholly owned by Warwickshire County Council as the sole shareholder and provides meals to 195 schools in Warwickshire.
Terry Tredget, Director of Catering at Educaterers said: “We’re delighted to launch our new website which tells not only our story as a company and our dedicated staff teams but also the story of our food, from farm to fork.
“Headteachers, governors and parents all want to be assured that their children’s food is of the highest standard and we hope the website gives a flavour of the innovation that goes into our menu preparation.
“If you are thinking of joining the catering sector or moving roles, I’d encourage you to look at our staff pages and recruitment links.”
