School pupils across Warwickshire enjoy Christmas lunch

Pupils across Warwickshire enjoyed tucking into a special school Christmas lunch last week and this week, thanks to school caterers Educaterers.

School catering teams across the county have been getting in the festive spirit and have been busily preparing a special lunch of either roast turkey breast fillet with chipolata sausage or roast Quorn fillet, followed by ice cream or homemade chocolate cracknel.

In total, Educaterers will be serving over 150,000 Christmas lunches over the last two weeks of term, feeding pupils at 195 schools in Warwickshire including Southam St James C of E Primary School and Westgate Primary School in Warwick.

They launched as a Local Authority Traded Company – the first for Warwickshire County Council – in September.

Educaterers take care to use locally sourced ingredients including British Red Tractor turkey and free range eggs, and hold the Soil Association’s Food for Life Silver Catering Mark.

Terry Tredget, Director of Catering at Educaterers said: “Our thanks go to our hard working school catering teams across the county, who have ended a really busy year by getting into the spirit into Christmas to give our pupils a delicious festive lunch. We’d like to wish all our employees, schools, pupils and parents a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
