Studley is celebrating success this week after reaching its target to fundraise over £35k for its ‘Studley on the Map’ project with over 200 pledges of time, money and support to the project.
Money was raised through a Civic Crowdfunding Platform called ‘Spacehive’ where it received a £20k boost from the ‘Warwickshire Placemaking’ Fund. The fund, provided by Warwickshire County Council as part of its Town Centres support package, is for projects aimed at enhancing and supporting the Town and High Streets of Warwickshire.
A group called ‘Studley in Business’ came up with the idea to make the place more attractive to visitors by improving signage and creating a new website for the town. The crowd was then rallied through a series of fun events including a postcard painting auction and coffee mornings.
People came forward from businesses, community groups, schools and the local councils to get involved.
Leader of the County Council and Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth, Councillor Izzi Seccombe said: “What a tremendous effort. The way the community has embraced the idea and supported this fantastic group of volunteers at Studley in Business is testament to their commitment and determination to support their town as a great place to live, work and visit. Well done Studley!”
