Firefighters take part in world’s biggest coffee morning

Firefighters from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) are getting ready to bake and brew in support of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer.

This year the fundraising event will be taking place on Friday 27 September and WFRS are thrilled to be involved, hosting coffee mornings at Leamington, Bedworth and Coleshill fire stations. As well as enjoying coffee and cake, firefighters will also be giving out advice and useful tips on fire prevention and promoting their on-call recruitment campaign – encouraging people from all walks of life to consider becoming an on-call firefighter.

Talking about the events, Warwickshire County Councillor, Cllr Andy Crump, Portfolio Holder for Fire and Community Safety said:

“Everyone at WFRS is delighted to be involved in Macmillan’s fantastic initiative. We hope that you can come along with your families to either Leamington, Bedworth or Coleshill fire station for coffee and cake and take the chance to meet our firefighters and hear from them about what it’s like to work in the fire and rescue service and of course enjoy some amazing cakes.

“If you could come along and help our crews to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan, that would be great. We would really like to help them to achieve their record fundraising goal.”

The WFRS Macmillan coffee mornings will be taking place on Friday 27 September at three locations:

10am until 1pm at Leamington Fire Station, Warwick St, Leamington Spa CV32 5LH.

8.30am until 11.30am at Bedworth Fire Station, Park Rd, Bedworth CV12 8LB

10am until 1pm at Coleshill Fire Station, Park Rd, Coleshill, Birmingham B46 3LA

A variety of delicious cakes, homemade treats and refreshments will be provided by WFRS and can be purchased on the day. All proceeds will be donated to Macmillan.
