At 23:39 hours on 12th November, a numerous calls were received into the Emergency Control Room of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service to a lorry on fire between junctions 12 and 13 northbound on the M40, just prior to Warwick Services. Fire engines from Fenny Compton and Leamington Spa Fire Stations attended the incident, along with Police and Highways. Upon arrival, fire fighters found one 3.5 tonne LGV well alight on the hard shoulder. Fire crews used breathing apparatus, lighting, hose reels and thermal imaging camera to deal with the incident. Crews were in attendance for approx 1 hour and lane one of the motorway was closed for a period of time.
