Lorry Fire, A46 Warwick Bypass – Two fire engines attended

At 20:08 this evening Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service control received a 999 call from the driver of a lorry on the A46 Southbound on the exit slip at Stanks Hill, Warwick reporting the underside of his lorry was on fire. Two fire engines from Leamington Spa and the specialist Water Carrier from Coleshill were mobilised. The incident involved a fire in the exhaust system of a lorry with tractor trailer unit attached. Firefighters extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet. Crews awaited the arrival of recovery services to inspect the underside of the lorry to ensure all fire was extinguished. The last appliance returned to station at 21:50.
