Join in with the 100 million visits to UK parks this #LoveParks Week (14 -23 July) and tell the world why you love your park.
Love Parks Week, now in its eleventh year, is Britain’s biggest celebration of these valuable spaces. Warwickshire County Council Country Parks Service is joining the celebration, and encouraging everyone to share why they love Warwickshire’s parks.
This #LoveParks Week, we are encouraging as many people as possible to go out and enjoy their local park. Post a photo, video or message on social media using the hashtag #LoveParks, telling the world why you love your park.
Using this tide of public support, with people sharing how much parks matter to them and why, environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy will campaign to secure the quality of parks for future generations to enjoy.
Several events are taking place over the week for people to enjoy:
Wednesday 19 July
Toddler Trundle at Ryton Pools Country Park
A weekly event for the tiniest of tiddlers! Leaf fun, stories, mud pies and collecting treasures will be amongst some of our activities designed for the smallest naturalists. After the walk and activities, head back to The Courtyard Café for refreshments (extra cost for refreshments, exclusive reduced-price Toddler Trundle menu available). A quarterly programme is available from the Visitor Centre giving activity details for each week.

Cost: £2.50 per toddler (excluding refreshments)
Wednesday 19 June
Birds Of Prey at Ryton Pools Country Park
A regular event for our programme, with local birds of prey experts. Meet the birds, see them fly and learn about these amazing creatures.
Time: 11am-1pm (approximate timings)
Meet: Jo’s Garden
Cost: FREE – but donations welcome towards animal welfare charities
Saturday 22 July to Thursday 24 August
Secret Garden Summer Fun Trail at Ryton Pools Country Park.
Follow the secret garden trail around the park. Complete your trail sheet and collect your prize. Fun for all the family. Collect your sheet from the visitor centre during opening hours.
Cost: £2 per trail sheet.
Monday 24 July
Seaside Fishy Windsocks at Kingsbury Water Park
Come along to make a fabulous flying fish!
Time: Drop in anytime between 11am and 1pm
Meet: The Information Centre.
Cost: £2 per child
The parks staff are getting ready for the start of the Warwickshire school holidays and look forward to seeing you soon!
Paul Todd, Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award manager said, “We believe that everybody, wherever they live, should have access to a quality green space. We are asking everyone to join us in showing how much they care and helping us to protect parks for future generations.”
