Can you put children at the heart of what you do and work for them?

Warwickshire County Council is hosting a recruitment event next week which promotes opportunities to work with children.

The event supports current council campaigns to recruit experienced children’s social workers and foster carers and will offer plenty of information and professional advice. Attendance is a must for anyone interested in these fields.

The event takes place on Thursday 16 November from 2pm-8pm at the Hilton Hotel in Warwick. It is a drop-in event with talks from social workers, foster carers and other professionals happening throughout the afternoon to help people find out what working for Warwickshire is really like.

The council is looking for experienced Children’s Social Workers Team Managers and Independent Reviewing Officers to join social care teams around the county and will be offering interviews for specific roles on the day.

The event also aims to reach prospective foster carers or experienced foster carers who work for other local authorities or private agencies.

The fostering service urgently needs more foster carers who live in the Warwickshire area or close to the Warwickshire border to help care for local children. Foster carers can be single or couples and with or without children. What matters most is that potential carers have time, space, commitment, patience, a caring nature and skills to work with children and their families.

Councillor Jeff Morgan, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services, said: “This will be an interesting and informative event showcasing Warwickshire talent and helping people understand more about roles available working for the local authority and most importantly our children and young people.

“We are looking for social workers who are passionate about good social work and foster carers who can make a difference to children and families. I encourage anyone who is keen to develop their skills and knowledge in social work or those interested in fostering to attend the event and find out more.”

It is a drop-in event but spaces are limited for the speaker sessions. Don’t miss out, find out more and book at Alternatively for more information call 01926 742330 or email
