Warwickshire residents are being urged to have their say and get involved with shaping the future of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service by giving their views on its draft Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) Action Plan for the years 2019/2020.
So what is an IRMP? As a fire and rescue service, we are required to regularly review and assess the full range of foreseeable risks with the potential to impact upon the communities of Warwickshire, to ensure that we effectively plan and prepare, making the best use of our resources and maximise our efforts around our prevention, protection and response services across the whole county, with a particular focus on those who are the most vulnerable.
As part of our ongoing commitment to consult and engage with our communities, we are keen to ensure that residents and stakeholders have the opportunity to have their say on any actions which may impact on their community or the county as a whole.
With this in mind, we are inviting residents and other interested parties to give their views on a number of proposed actions outlined in our draft IRMP Action Plan 2019/20. These include the proposal of an additional fire station within the Rugby area and asking for views on potential options for future fire station locations in Nuneaton and North Warwickshire.
Talking about the consultation, Chief Fire Officer for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, Kieran Amos said: “Our IRMP is a critical document and informs both the Service and our communities about how we plan for and manage risks in the county. It is essentially our contract with you, our community. Your views are essential to this process. The more informed we are by your views, the better able we are to understand your expectations and deliver positive outcomes for the communities of Warwickshire. So please do take the time to fill in the survey and help shape the future of your fire service.”
