A sheep marooned in a canal in Mancetter has been rescued by firefighters from Atherstone. Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service received a 999 call to rescue a distressed animal at 12.14pm. On arrival crews found a sheep who was in a stressed state stuck in the canal. Firefighters used a water rescue kit and ropes to pull the animal to safety. The sheep was then reunited with it’s owner, exhausted, but no worse off for its ordeal.
