Warwickshire Fire Service Emergency Control Room received a call to a building fire at 3:49 hours on 27th November at Ascott Road, Whichford near Shipston on Stour. The call was received by neighbours who were awoken by a loud crackling noise. Upon arrival, fire crews from Shipston and Stratford found a roof well alight. Due to the severity of the fire, further assistance was requested from nearby Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue who mobilised crews from Hook Norton and Chipping Norton. Fire fighters used hose reels, mains jets, breathing apparatus and ‘working at height’ equipment to deal with the incident. All occupants evacuated safely and crews were in attendance for approximately three and half hours.
