House Fire – Birchley Heath Road, Birchley Heath

At 21:13 hours on 26.3.16, a call was received in the Emergency Control Room of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service to a house fire on Birchley Heath Road, Birchley Heath.  Two fire engines from Nuneaton Fire Station were mobilised.  Upon arrival, fire fighters found one terraced property, used as a private dwelling of two storeys.  Crews had difficulty locating the source of the fire initially, but 100% of the building was affected by smoke.  Fire fighters were using hose reels, main jets, breathing apparatus and thermal imaging cameras to deal with the incident. The fire was located in the first floor bedroom and a further fire engine was requested to assist dealing with the fire.  A further fire engine was sent from Polesworth. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately three hours.  A further inspection will be carried out in the morning of 27.3.16.  No one was injured in the incident.
