At 07:57 hours on 26th May 2016, a call was received in the Emergency Control Room of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service to a road traffic accident on the A46, near the Bishopton Island at Stratford upon Avon. Fire engines from Stratford and Alcester Fire Stations were mobilsied. Upon arrival, fire fighters found one private motor vehicle in collision with the rear trailer of an HGV. One female driver was trapped. Fire crews used clan lucas cutting equipment, hose reels and dry powder extinguishers to release the casualty and deal with the incident. Police and Ambulance crews also attended the scene and once released, the casualty was left in the care of West Midlands Ambulance Service. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately one and a half hours.
