House Fire – Knowle Hill, Hurley

At 18:10 hours on 26.11.16, several calls were received into the Emergency Control Room of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service to a house on fire at Knowle Hill, Hurley.  Two fire engines were mobilised initially, one from Atherstone and one from Coleshill Fire Stations. Upon arrival, fire fighters found a two storey building approx 20m x 30m used as a private dwelling.  Fire was spreading through the roof space. The Officer in Charge of the incident requested two further fire engines to attend to assist with manpower and water. These were mobilised from Polesworth and Nuneaton Fire Stations.  Fire fighters used main jets, covering jets, hose reels, breathing apparatus and ladders to deal with the incident and fire crews were in attendance for approximately 9 hours.  A further inspection has since taken place to ensure no hot spots exist.  The incident is now closed and the building handed back to the owner.  The Fire Emergency Support Team attended to give assistance to the owner of the property.
