Van fire – A46 Kenilworth

At 08:56, Service Control took the first of twenty nine emergency calls. The incident involved a van on fire on the northbound carriageway of the A46 between Kenilworth and Stoneleigh. One fire engine from Kenilworth and one from Leamington Spa attended. The fire-fighters confirmed that the lorry was well alight on the carriageway. One fire-fighter wearing breathing apparatus used water from a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Fire-fighters spent 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.
