Warwickshire Fire Service were alerted to a flat fire on Newtown Road, Bedworth at 1935 hrs on Saturday 25th February 2017. 2 appliances were initially mobilised from Bedworth and Nuneaton, further calls then stated there may be persons still within the flat so a further appliance from Nuneaton was mobilised. A message received at 1957 hrs confirmed a fire within a domestic flat, all persons are accounted for with crews using breathing apparatus, hose reels and thermal image camera, crews have confirmed 1 male has been taken to hospital with smoke inhalation and a small burn to hand. Police and Ambulance are in attendance, also the Red Cross Fire Emergency Support Service are also attending. A stop message was passed at 2027 hrs. Specialist fire investigation officers are in attendance. All appliances returned to station by 2335 hrs.
